Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
Tariff Spot LLC (“Tariff Spot”, “we”, “us”) is a document preparation service that helps importers generate and file CBP Form 19 protests to recover overpaid US tariff duties. We are incorporated in Wyoming. Contact: ask@tariffspot.com.
2. Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account we collect your email address and a hashed password. We use Supabase for authentication — your credentials are never stored in plaintext.
Protest and entry data
To generate your Form 19 we collect import-related information you provide: CBP entry numbers, liquidation dates, importer of record details, protest grounds, and any supporting documents you upload. This data is stored in your account and is used solely to generate and file your protest documents.
Payment information
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card number, expiry, or CVV. Stripe returns a payment record ID that we associate with your protest filing.
Usage data
We collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) for security and debugging purposes. We do not use third-party analytics trackers.
3. How we use your information
- To generate your completed CBP Form 19 PDF
- To print and mail your protest to CBP via our mailing partner (Lob)
- To display your protest status in your dashboard
- To send you transactional email confirmations (filing confirmation, status updates)
- To respond to your support requests
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.

Each provider is bound by their own privacy policy and applicable data protection law. We select providers that offer adequate security standards.
5. Data retention
Protest records (entry data, generated PDFs) are retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to support any CBP follow-up. You may request deletion at any time by emailing ask@tariffspot.com.
If you use the document-generation feature without creating an account, no data is retained after your browser session ends.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, email ask@tariffspot.com. We will respond within 30 days.
If you are located in the European Economic Area or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR or the CCPA respectively.
7. Security
All data is transmitted over TLS. Supabase storage and database are encrypted at rest. We apply row-level security policies so your protest data is only accessible by your account.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or by a notice on the site. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
